Does this resonate with you?

  • You want to be guided through the techniques of turning fiber into felt.

  • You want to craft art from one of the world’s oldest and most versatile textiles and become part of an ancient human lineage to pass along this technique.

  • You want to explore your own creativity through the wool medium.

  • You want to create in an intentional way that connects you to yourself, people (ancestrally to the past and communally in the present), and to support holistic methods of animal agriculture of Montana.

Let’s Create.

We’ve created three different methods to guide you through the felting process. For those in southwest Montana, I hope you’ll join me and our community for an in-person workshop, which are held several times throughout the year. For those who prefer to create at your own pace, any where in the world, and at your own leisure, you can explore the E-guidebook/digital download as well as the video tutorials.

Through whichever method works best for you, I welcome you to this space. It is a tremendous honor to be with you on this part of your creative journey, and I am grateful to you for being such a profound part of mine.

Let’s gather.

The felting process - the application of soap, water, and agitation - is one of permanence. Once the fibers are bound together, they cannot be undone.  Wool teaches us how to let go of expectations, control, and perfectionism… to trust the process and outcome, the material, and yourself.  It’s an opportunity to get still and listen to the silent, yet beaconing conversation between this medium and the great mysterious presence of creativity that we all possess.

As much as these workshops are an opportunity to learn a new skill and create a work of beauty, it’s also a space to experience presence.  It’s a time to slow down and be open to what is stirring within your creative being. It’s a space to find connection to your own artistic expression and voice, connection with like-hearted kin in creative community, to the sensorial-rich experience of the wool medium, and this primal, ancient textile process.
